Usually, there is some password which lets the user navigate further into the computer system, but eventually there have been added much more manners of logging in rather than simply typing a password, like a 4 or 6-digit pin, fingerprint (if included in hardware), USB-stick login, and latest face recognition login.

For the users who use Windows 10 operating system, there is a built-in feature that enables users to employ their faces as a password to log in to the system. This feature is named as Windows Hello Face.

Occasionally, the users get an error message that, “We couldn’t find a camera compatible with Windows Hello Face”.

Let us bust this error and get our camera start working with Windows Hello Face.

Method 1- Installing the HelloFaceMigration.inf and HelloFace.inf files

The first step we will be trying is to install some configuration files which might not be installed at the time of installation of Windows 10.

Step I – Open file explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\WinBioPlugIns\FaceDriver.

You can open the folder by copying this path and pasting it into the address bar of file explorer. And you will find some files there namely HelloFace.inf file.

Step II – Now, right click on the HelloFace.inf and install this file.

Step III – Restart your computer and check if the error still persists or not.

If it does, try this another step.

Method 2 – Checking if the Windows Hello Face is installed or not

Now, we will inspect if we have Windows Hello Face installed in the first place or not.

Step I – Navigate to the Settings, by pressing “Windows Key” + “I”, and search for Apps & features, and open it.

Step II – Now look for Optional Features and click on it.

Step III – Search for windows hello face, and if it is pre-installed, then uninstall it and reinstall it.

Now, restart your computer and again setup the Windows Hello Face feature and it should be working by now.

If, anyhow, till now the error is not resolved, then next thing we will be trying is to update the camera drivers present in your laptop or pc.

Method 3 – Updating the camera drivers.

Step I – Press “Windows” + “R” and type “devmgmt.msc” and press enter, now, device manager window must be opened.

Step II – Now find the “Cameras” option in the list of devices, and expand it, now choose your camera device and right click on it and you should be seeing an option named “Update driver”.

Click on the update driver option and wait for the drivers to get updated and after they would have been updated, restart your pc and try again, the Hello Face feature should be working flawlessly now.

Last but not the least option you can try is to scan your system for some error.

Follow these simple steps.

Method 4 – Repairing some corrupt files and scanning for errors.

Step I – Open command prompt. (Press windows button and search for “cmd” and press enter)

Step II – Now copy and paste these commands one by one and let them run.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

sfc /scannow

What these steps would do is ensure that whether some of the Windows Hello files are corrupted or not.

Finally, restart your pc and check again, your feature must be running error-free.
